Summary
- In order to prevent physical collisions at sea in advance and for maritime warning and deterrence activities, an optimal means of off-ship communication is needed. However, the current air defense broadcast speaker is having difficulty transmitting warning sounds and real-time microphone broadcasts in an environment of maritime noise (wind, wave noise, engine noise). Therefore, the introduction of a new concept of long-range directional sound wave transmitter that can be used even in bad weather is required.
- Countries surrounding the Korean Peninsula, including Japan, China, Taiwan, and Singapore, are using LRAD™ directional acoustic transmitters for ship-to-ship acoustic communications, RAS, and maritime rescue operations.
- Navy : Used as an external communication means in case of emergency situations on board the ship or in case of military support
- Army : base perimeter security system
- Air Force : Applications in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones
